A Pastor’s Prayer

Here is a prayer based out of 2 Timothy 2.

Our Lord, our God, Our Creator:

Before we knew you, you knew us,

Before we loved you, you loved us.

Put fear and humility in our hearts

That we might worship you today,

we might delight in all your glory,

we might turn our hearts unto You,

and we might be strengthened in our spirits.

Oh, Father,

Remind us once again of that glorious, sin-destroying, soul-saving grace by which we are saved.

Remind us again of the infinite sacrifice of Jesus Christ

on our behalf

because of the great love

which You loved us,

reconciled us,

redeemed us,

forgave us,

regenerated us,

adopted us

as Your very own.

Place your Spirit upon us Father,

to be faithful to teach others what we have learned.

To not become entangled in this world’s affairs.

To remember Jesus and His resurrection.

To remember those persecuted because of Jesus.

To not be a people who argue over words.

To be a people who rightly handle Your Word.

To abstain from wickedness.

To cleanse ourselves of known sin.

To pursue righteousness, faith, peace and love

That your name would be exalted

Sinners called to repentance.
