Fish on Their Way to Die, Died

I came across this story and it reminds me why I don’t miss California, not even a little bit.  It is funny but also astounding in the fact of how serious this person is making it to be.  Here is part of the story:

The sign would read, “In memory of hundreds of fish who suffered and died at this spot,” to remind tractor-trailer drivers of their responsibility to the animals who are “hauled to their deaths every day,” according to the letter provided by PETA.

The crash occurred Oct. 11 when a truck, carrying 1,600 pounds of live fish and several tanks of pure oxygen, crashed with two other vehicles.

The oxygen was used to keep saltwater bass alive as the fish were being taken to market.

“Although such signs are traditionally reserved for human fatalities, I hope you’ll make an exception because of the enormous suffering involved in this case,” the letter read.

Of course, I am all for this sign.  In fact, if I were the governor of California I would enact a fee attached to all motor vehicles to pay for signage throughout the state in memory of the millions of bugs who were crushed without thought by the millions of rushing windshields.  And then I would convene a committee to oversee how we can retrain the fish and mammals in the sea to go vegetarian so that no fish ever has to suffer the ignoble death of a penguin in the jaws of a leopard seal.

I think right now we should just be silent for a moment and think of all of sushi that never was due to this accident.

That’s all, thanks for stopping by.
