About

Middle-aged pastor trying to figure out how to be missional in his world. Loves his wife, his children, and his dog Bear. Tolerates the two cats.

The name is xagete but is pronounced exegete. In all my computer gaming online I am lovingly known as xag (zag).

I am usually found at my local coffee shops, either Common Grounds or Dunn Bros sucking down a French Press 32 oz coffee while I study or meet with various people.

  1. Dunn Bros. doesn’t exist anymore, and you don’t have two cats anymore… I think it is time to update lol

    • I have changed it twice but it doesn’t seem to take. I have not figured out what I am doing wrong. But thanks for letting me know, I will try yet again.

  2. TMC/S navigating missional waters. Glad to find you brother! Greetings from Ecuador.

  3. Hi…just bumped into your site while searching for info on David E Taylor. I’ve been really blessed and encouraged…especially by your post “You better be right”. Thanks for the warning….and encouragement.

  4. What does missional mean anyway? Why do you use that term? I remember the emergent church made that term really popular in the early 00’s.

    • Missional is used in many ways. It certainly arose to prominence through the emergent church but that is not how I use it. At our church we talk of seeing those outside the Church as not something to run from nor to judge but to love and reach. So I seek to use the time when the Church gathers to proclaim the Word, praise the Lord and equip the saints to go back and rightly, graciously engage the world God has sovereignly placed them. It is not a diminishing of the gospel but merely a mind set that reminds us that as the Father sent the Son, so the Son sends us to proclaim salvation in Him alone.
